Frequently asked support questions

How do I easily get an overview of all measurements?

There are four ways:
  1. Toolbar panel
The fastest and easiest way is to look on the toolbar panel on top of the application. This panel is always shown wherever you are in the program. Here you see timeline from birth up to 20 years of age. Every measurement recorded in the database is marked with a dot.
  2. Measurement drop down list
This list is also fast and easy to get hold of. Click the round button on the toolbar with an arrow pointing down.
When there are many measurements registered during a short interval the timeline may be too cluttered. And if you want some more detailed overview with specified data for height and weight this list is good.
  3. Printed list
If you open up the chart selection panel (the blue handle on the right) you can go to the List section and select the report called List. This will create a list on screen with all basic measurements.
This list can also be printed.
  4. Graphical overview
The growth chart is normally the initial page opened in GrowthXP and is in itself a very good overview of measurements. There are many different versions of growth charts and they can all easily be printed.

How do I add new measurements?

The nodes in the TreeView on the left will guide you. There are nodes for patient related edit screens:
  • Patient
  • Birth
  • Parent

And there are nodes for visit related screens. Same type of measurements that are registered over the time:

  • Auxology
  • Puberty

Before adding data for a new measurement in time you have to add a new visit date. This can be done by in three different ways:

  1. Clicking the New visit button on the toolbar with the mouse.
  2. Using the File menu and clicking New visit with the mouse.
  3. Enter the short cut Ctrl+F5 on your keyboard.

How do I log in? (Pro version)

There is a system administrator for every GrowthXP installation. This administrator is handling all the user accounts for GrowthXP. If you have not got a user name and a password then you should contact the GrowthXP system administrator.

If you forget your password then you should also contact the system administrator.

How do I print a growth chart?

There are three steps to take:
  1. First load the patient from which you want the growth data.
  2. Then select the graph using the blue handle on the right hand side of the screen.
  3. Click the Print button.

How do I calculate BMI for a patient?

The BMI is calculated automatically for each visit that has a length and weight value registered. See the Auxology screen.

Note! There is also a BMI chart that can be printed with all the BMI values.

How do I calculate height velocity for a patient?

The height velocity and many other calculated values are calculated for each visit when possible by the program. See the screen calculated values.
