The system is built around multi-tier technology and uses “smart" clients. The client side has no database connection. Instead, it sends requests to the database on the application server for operations like storing and retrieving data.
The application server checks both user and session authorizations. It also supervises encrypted data transmission between the client and the database.
On the database server, Microsoft SQL Server manages data transmission, data retrieval, and activity logs. The multi-tier technology makes the system fast, efficient, and scalable.
